Als beste Kinderspiele wurden L.A.M.A.

Like many other fairs, the UK Games Expo last weekend could only be hosted online. Nevertheless, the UK Games Expo Awards once again honored the best new releases, as has been traditional since 2007, with one winner per category chosen by a jury and another determined by consumers. The prize for the best abstract game went to Gembatan (jury) and Azul: Summer Pavilion (people's choice award). The best children's games were LLAMA (jury) and Valley of the Vikings (consumers). Among family games, Deep Blue came out on top with both jury and consumers. Flotilla (jury) and Imperial Settlers: Empires of the North (consumers) were voted best "American Style" board games, Tapestry best new Euro-game (both jury and consumers). Ishtar (jury) and Dune (consumers) were victorious among strategy games. Solar Storm fetched both card game trophies. A video on Facebook shows all winners in the other categories as well.

The next UK Games Expo is planned for the 4-6 June 2021 in Birmingham, although the organizers put a "hopefully" behind this date due to all current uncertainties.
