21.02.2024 - Mag der deutsche Gesamtmarkt für Spielwaren in Deutschland 2023 auch 5 % seines Vorjahresumsatzes eingebüßt haben, für die Brettspiele gilt der Trend nicht: Wie der Spieleverlage e.V. als Verbund von 19 wichtigen Spieleproduzenten innerhalb des Deutschen Verbandes der Spielwarenindustrie (DVSI) meldete, wurden im letzten Jahr in Deutschland mit Brett- und Kartenspielen, Puzzles und Sammelkarten sogar 9 % mehr eingenommen als im Vorjahr.
Nicht zuletzt deshalb wird die Frühjahrsmesse für Brett- und Kartenspielmesse, die SPIEL DOCH! in Dortmund vom 26. bis 28.4., immer relevanter. Sie startet wieder auf dem Gelände der Messe Dortmund, diesmal mit noch mehr Ausstellern auf noch größerer Fläche.
Die rund 7.600 qm Ausstellungsfläche (2023: ca. 6.000 qm) sind komplett ausverkauft. Dort zeigen dann die vielen kleinen und großen Aussteller auch wieder das ganze Spektrum der Brett- und Kartenspielwelt. Bei über 140 Ausstellern und Marken ist für jeden etwas dabei. Auch die unverzichtbare freie Spielefläche, ein Markenzeichen der Messe, an der man Spiele ausleihen, sich erklären lassen und ausprobieren kann, wurde um rund 1/3 vergrößert.
Am Messefreitag können wieder Schulklassen nach vorheriger Anmeldung kostenlos die Messe besuchen. Etliche haben dieses noch laufende Angebot (E-Mail oder Anruf genügen) auch bereits angenommen, aber ein Restkontingent ist noch vorhanden.
Letztes Jahr kamen über 14.000 Besucher, um die damals noch rund 100 Austeller und Marken auf der Messe zu erleben. 2024 rechnet der veranstaltende w. nostheide verlag mit 16.000 Besuchern.

While the overall German toy market may have lost 5% of its previous year's sales in 2023, this trend does not apply to board games: as reported by Spieleverlage e.V., an association of 19 major game producers within the German toy industry association DVSI, sales of board and card games, puzzles and trading cards in Germany were actually 9% higher last year than in 2022.
This is one of the reasons why the spring fair for board and card games, SPIEL DOCH! in Dortmund from April 26 to 28, is becoming increasingly relevant. It will once again take place at the fairground of Messe Dortmund, this time with even more exhibitors on an even larger area.
The approximately 7,600 square meters of exhibition space (2023: approx. 6,000 square meters) are completely sold out. Many small and large exhibitors will once again showcase the entire spectrum of the board and card game world. With over 140 exhibitors and brands, there will be something for everyone. The indispensable free playing area, a trademark of the fair where games can be borrowed, explained and tried out, has also been enlarged by around 1/3.
On the Friday of the fair, school classes can once again visit free of charge by prior arrangement. Many have already taken up this ongoing offer (e-mail or phone call suffices), but there is still a residual contingent available.
Last year, more than 14,000 visitors came to experience the roughly 100 companies and brands at the event. In 2024, organizer w. nostheide verlag is expecting 16,000 visitors.
