27.04.2026 - Über 18.000 Besucher*innen (2025: 17.000) reisten zur jüngsten SPIEL DOCH! in Dortmund und spielten vom 24. bis 26. April auf der Brett- und Kartenspielmesse auf dem Gelände der Messe Dortmund. Über 190 Ausstellende und Marken waren auf der Messe vertreten, darunter neben den großen und kleinen Verlagen auch wieder Autoren, Flohmärkte, Künstler*innen und Vereine. Damit war die in der Halle 4 zur Verfügung stehende Ausstellungsfläche von 8.300 Quadratmetern seit Wochen ausverkauft.

Auch dieses Jahr war der Besuch am Samstag am stärksten. Obwohl man die Spielflächen mit fast 900 Plätzen weiter optimiert hatte, kam es aufgrund des Rekordbesuches doch zu Engpässen. Zusätzlich stand mindestens noch einmal die gleiche Anzahl an den Spieltischen der Aussteller*innen zur Verfügung, die vor allem am Samstagmittag restlos besetzt waren. Weiter zugenommen hat auch wieder die Anzahl der verkauften Familientickets. Diese nutzten das Angebot der SPIEL DOCH! gerade am Samstag und Sonntag. Am Freitag hatte man traditionell 700 Schüler*innen kostenlos zum Besuch eingeladen. Die Besucher*innen waren an den drei Tagen wieder von der entspannten Atmosphäre mit den breiten Gängen ohne große Staus und der Vielfalt des Spieleangebotes sehr angetan. Gut besucht waren auch die Turniere und das Finale der Deutschen CATAN-Meisterschaft.

Für 2027 wird man vermutlich eine weitere Halle dazunehmen, so der veranstaltende Nostheide Verlag. Man will die SPIEL DOCH! dann in den Hallen 4 und 7 durchführen. Damit könnte dann die bereits bestehende Warteliste abgebaut werden und zusätzliche Spielfläche entstehen. Nächstes Jahr findet die 8. SPIEL DOCH! in Dortmund vom 9. bis 11.4. statt.

Over 18,000 visitors (2025: 17,000) attended the most recent SPIEL DOCH! in Dortmund, playing board and card games from April 24 to 26 at the fair held on the grounds of Messe Dortmund. More than 190 exhibitors and brands were represented, including not only large and small publishers but also game designers, flea markets, artists, and clubs. As a result, the 8,300 square meters of exhibition space available in Hall 4 had been sold out for weeks.

This year, too, Saturday saw the highest attendance. Although the gaming areas had been further optimized to accommodate nearly 900 seats, bottlenecks still occurred due to the record turnout. In addition, at least the same number of seats were available at the exhibitors’ tables, which were completely occupied, especially on Saturday afternoon. The number of family tickets sold also increased further. These families took advantage of SPIEL DOCH!’s offerings particularly on Saturday and Sunday. On Friday, as is tradition, 700 schoolchildren were invited to attend for free. Over the three days, visitors were once again very impressed by the relaxed atmosphere, with wide aisles free of major congestion, and the diversity of games on offer. The tournaments and the finals of the German CATAN Championship were also well attended.

According to the organizer Nostheide Verlag, another hall is likely to be added for 2027. The plan is to hold SPIEL DOCH! in Halls 4 and 7. This would help clear the existing waiting list and create additional space for players. Next year, the 8th SPIEL DOCH! will take place in Dortmund from April 9 to 11.
